Summer has ended and Autumn is here. Our summer veggie box produced an enormous amount of tomatoes and basil. On the weekend we prepared the soil for the next season. Our communal compost bins are on the ground floor so we decided to apply the bucket and rope technique to bring up ten buckets of compost.

The soil is ready for the winter crop. The growing Rosemary in front of the box will help attract bees with the flowers it produces. Happy cooler days await.
Our Green Roof was completed in August 2015 and so has had eight months of growth. Here are some photos of the growing plants. Eventually the soil will be completely covered with foliage and a meadow will prevail.

Very inspirational. Love it. Have posted a you tube clip of my green roof on our home. Note it was built on a roof with a 28 deg tilt!
